Teaching Art at Perspectives

2011-12 School Year
This school year I am very happy to announce that CAD has a new partnership with the Hyde Park Art Center, so we are able to have the students from Perspectives go to the art center and create. This will provide more resources for them to explore art-making and the opportunity for me to teach them Lumetype with Caro D'Offay and Laura Gilmore. Classes start at the end of January!

2010-11 School Year
The Chicago Art Department (CAD) has partnered with Perspectives Charter School to teach art classes once a month.  As a member of CAD, I have had the opportunity to develop and teach ReSculpture Class using recycled materials and paper mache techniques to 10th, 11th and 7th graders. I also taught the Senior class 'green graffitti' which included making seed bombs, planting sod art and moss painting.

Each grade only gets one day of art per 2010-11 school year, so we try to make it a fun, productive and memorable.  Check out some of the footage I took of our 7th graders in January 2011.
