January - April 2016
My acute awareness of time, memories, space and the Universe are at the core of my work. Examining the past and coming to terms with impermanence and letting go. This project centers around personal diary entries made between 2010-2012, during a period of significant personal growth and transition in my world view.
My work confronts and reconciles the passage of time, by juxtaposing the old and the new. By conjuring up the nostalgia of the past with a new digital reinterpretation of retro futurist designs. The presentation of illuminated art, via light boxes, antique projectors, View-Masters & 35mm slide viewers, captures the magic and the nostalgia of the past through the allure of light.
The work featured on display, is a fraction of an ongoing 6 year project. These excerpts, represent one step along the way, in the completion of 60 short animated films, based on the personal diary entries.
